Vodafone India has partnered with Grow-Trees.com for India’s first private initiative to develop a wildlife corridor between Kanha and Pench national parks. 300,000 trees will be planted across 100 hectares of forest land over 3 years. To kick start this initiative, the Vodafone team travelled to Rata village, located on the outskirts of Kanha national park along with representatives from Grow-Trees.com and their on-ground partner, Foundation of Ecological Society (FES). With this unique project, Vodafone India will be able to offset the33 million kg of carbon footprint generated by its offices every year for 3-years. In addition, it will support livelihood generation for local communities, enable reforestation and facilitate habitat connectivity in tiger breeding areas. This is a win-win-win proposition for all - the organisation, the community and the environment, exemplifying the true spirit of sustainability.
