“Tree Church – A living, breathing church in New Zealand!
The Tree Church is formed almost entirely from living trees and set among 3 acres of landscaped gardens. It can seat a hundred people and is located at Ohaupo in Waikato, New Zealand,
It was first planted by Barry Cox on his property in 2011. His original inspiration behind the structure was a means to retreat from society. Cut-leaf alder tree species was chosen for the roof as it is flexible enough to be trained over the frame and will be removed when the branches become strong enough to support the church themselves.”
