“Spotted Deer is the most attractive of all the deer species and is found at the Grow-Trees.com project at Sundarbans, West Bengal. Its colouring is most striking, consisting of a reddish brown coat with white spots, a striking white upper throat patch and a black dorsal stripe which also contains white spots in a fairly uniform pattern.
It feeds on grass, shrubs and trees. It can run up to 64 kms per hour or 40 miles per hour to escape its predators. Other common names include Indian Spotted Deer, Axis Deer and Chital Deer.”
